Urban Decay Revolution Dinner Party

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a dinner party at Rayuela in NYC for
Urban Decay's Revolution lipstick launch.  It was so great to be in a room filled with such amazing Latinas!  All of the women there were so inspiring and I am so happy that I got to be apart of it.  It was a night filled with delicious food, yummy cocktails, great conversation and of course a ton of cosmetics from UD's new fall collection.  Does it get much better?  That's my kind of dinner party!

I've been using Urban Decay's Naked 1 & 2 palettes for close to a year now and they are my every day eye shadows.  I've also been using their eye primer for awhile as well which I absolutely love. Their fall collection includes 22 revolution lipsticks that are all to die for! There's such a great variety of shades from every day nudes, to bright pinks, deep reds and bold corals.  You're sure to find a favorite.  Each lipstick is intensely pigmented with a super creamy texture.  They have a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeping lips soft and moisturized all day long. They also hydrate the lips while making them look plumper and fuller with their special technique, Maxi-Lip.
For me, I prefer going light on the eyes and using a bold lip color so I was in lipstick heaven!

In addition to the lipsticks, they also came out with 24/7 Glide-On lip pencils.  One of the things I loved the most was that the names matched the same name as the lipsticks.  That just makes things so much easier.  So far I've tried out 3 different lipsticks and liners and I have to say that they're all amazing.  I didn't have to keep reapplying through out the day even after eating and drinking. I will be doing reviews soon on my favorite shades.  They also showed us some of their ultra definition finishing powder, anti-aging eyeshadow primer potion, B6 prep spray, brow box and nail polishes.

This drink was so badass which is why they called it Badass Luxury. Ha! It was infused with rose petals.

I want to go back to that restaurant just for this! Tuna filled with crab meat and shrimp.  Too good.

With half of the group posing with our lip straws lol
I attended the dinner with my two Jersey blogger babes Nadia and Erika.  It really was such a fun and fab night!

They gave us all the most amazing gift bags.  I think I am set with makeup for a long time now! I can't wait to share my reviews with you all.  I am seriously so appreciative and very thankful for all that has been happening for me and my blog.  The best part about blogging is building new relationships and friendships with incredible people.  It's inspiring and motivating to connect with others who share the same passions and interests as I do.  It makes me want to challenge myself and to continue to be the best that I can be. For that, I am extremely grateful.  These are experiences that I will never forget.

A special thank you to Maria Ramirez from Alison Brod Public Relations and Urban Decay for having me at this fabulous event!!

Creating A Balance

I wore this about a week ago but didn't get around to posting it until now.  It ended up being a quick last minute shoot!

Shirt(old): H&M (also love )/ Skirt: C/O OASAP/ Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar)/ Bag: Aldo

I've mentioned so many times that I love taking older pieces and styling them in new ways.  It's crazy because when I was younger I rarely wore the same thing twice.   I had the mentality of "I already wore that," which is actually kind of silly.  I've learned to really make the most of everything I have in my closet.  It's actually kind of fun trying to create new looks with pieces that you've already worn.  I got this top a little over a year ago and I've styled it with black shorts and pink pants. This time I wanted to bring out the light mint color in the floral print so I thought this skirt was perfect.  I've also worn this skirt before too. Since my shoes and bag are black like the lining in the top, it helps to create a balance which I really like.

I mentioned in a previous post that I am now apart of a 6 month blogging campaign.  I am really excited to tell you more when it launches on August 13th!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing Tuesday.

Embroidery

Happy Monday!  I hope that you all had a great weekend.  I'm getting a little sad that there's only a few weeks left of summer, but for now I'm still trying to take advantage of the weather as much as possible!

Dress: C/O SheInside/ Sandals: Forever21 (also love)/ Sunglasses (similar) & Bracelet: H&M
Bag: My Mom's Closet :)/ Lipstick: Urban Decay NATIVE

I was drawn to this dress because of the beautiful embroidery.  The print is so unique and different from everything else that I have so I really wanted to try it out.  I have to admit that I was a little hesitant at first because there's so much chiffon material and it's meant to be flowy not form fitting.  I didn't want it to over power my body especially since I'm so short.  But the length ended up being perfect so I was able to wear flat sandals and I actually had a lot of fun wearing this and taking photos. There's something so freeing about wearing pieces like this.  It was breezy out so I kept trying to get the dress to twirl in the air. I don't know what it is with me and twirling haha but I got one good action shot up there.

I'm wearing another new lipstick and liner from Urban Decay's fall collection and it is almost identical to MAC Creme Cup which I wear almost every day.  The main difference is that the UD one has intense pigmentation.  I've only tried out two of their colors so far but I am already a huge fan.

Just a heads up though in case anyone is interested in getting this: it's one size fits all.  It might be big on you but you can pin the sides from the inside like I did.  Made it a much better fit!

I hope you have a great day loves!

XOXO

Sunday Inspiration

Runyon Canyon, LA
April 2010

This is probably one of my favorite photos ever that I took with my sister during our first trip to Cali 3 years ago.  This was right before everything happened that I mentioned in last week's post and I remember feeling so free and alive.  It really reminds me of that quote:

"If you want to fly you have to give up the things that weigh you down."

Since I wrote so much the last time, I thought I would keep this post short and sweet.  Surround yourself with positive people.  We should all be trying to build each other up instead of trying to break each other down.  Focus on the important and positive aspects of life and don't get caught up in all the negativity.  Keep that spirit inside of you alive and don't be afraid to take risks every once in awhile.

Have an amazing day!

I LIKE YOU (PT. 2)

Earlier in the week I showed you a day time look with the Furor Moda I LIKE YOU tee, so now I am bringing you into the night.

Shirt: C/O Furor Moda/ Pants(old): H&M (similar style)/ Shoes: C/O Charlotte Russe (shop similar)
Clutch: Daily Material/ Necklace: LolaBlue/ Lipstick: 69 C/O Urban Decay

To be honest, I originally styled this with a skirt for my night look but I didn't really like how the photos came out.  Since I wear a lot of skirts, I decided to pair the tee with these pants instead.  I don't think I've ever worn them on the blog before, but I got them a couple of months ago.  I think the last time I wore them was with sneaker wedges when I flew home from Miami, so it's definitely been awhile and it's the first time I paired them with heels.  I just really like the faux leather look and edgy vibe they have.

To dress it up a bit, I added one of my favorite statement necklaces and a red lip.  I just got this new red shade "69" from Urban Decay's new fall collection and I absolutely love it.  I went to a dinner they held a few nights ago that I will probably post about next week. My go to red lipstick has always been Russian Red or Ruby Woo from MAC, but this one might be my new fave.
This tee and graphic tees in general really have so much versatility.  This was a fun little blogger challenge :)

Happy weekend loves <3

H&M 50 States Of Fashion!

I am so excited to finally announce my collaboration with H&M in their new campaign
50 STATES OF FASHION where I have been selected as the sole style ambassador for New Jersey!  They have officially launched their US e-commerce site so now we can finally shop online! To celebrate, they're doing a contest for the month of August and that's where all of you can enter for a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree to HM.com and a trip to NYFW. Read through this post for details on how to enter :)

Skirt: C/O H&M/ Top: Furor Moda/ Shoes: Amazon/ Bag: Aldo
Bracelet: Charlotte Russe/ Belt: Forever21/ Sunglasses: H&M

For my first look, it's all about this skater skirt and if you've been reading my blog for awhile then you know how much I love this style!  Skater skirts are fun, flirty and chic all at the same time.  I love that this one is high waisted so I could add a belt and pair it with my crop top.  This skirt is also perfect to transition into the fall with a little bit of layering.  It would also look really cute with a pair of booties and moto style jacket to give it a little edge.

H&M has been one of my favorite stores for years so to have them pick me to represent NJ in this campaign is an honor and words really don't express how excited I am about this!  I have been keeping this a secret for weeks so it's great to finally announce it and share it with all of you.  And I think we have all been waiting for so long for them to have online shopping and the contest is just an extra bonus! I really hope you all enter and I will definitely be voting for my favorites. Make sure to check out the micro site 50 States Of Fashion where you can see the other 49 style ambassadors, the judges, and all of the entries!  Also make sure to follow me on instagram where I'll be tagging all of my H&M looks to #HMShopOnlineNJ!
