ALL BLACK EVERYTHING

I just got back from AC a little while ago and I had such a great time with my mom & sis.  We stayed at the Borgata, which is one of my favorite hotels and had dinner at this amazing restaurant called Izakaya.  They have the best sushi.  I live for their dragon roll and edamame dumplings!  We had some drinks at Long Bar and Gypsy bar and then later at night went to the Mix.  Such a nice mini getaway with the fam :)

I didn't want to do a dress or skirt this time so I was trying to find something that I could piece together.  I found this really cute black peplum top at Forever21.  Basically peplum means a ruffle or short overskirt that is attached at the waistline.  It's a very popular trend that's going to be big this spring.  The shirt has a zipper going down the middle in the front.  I didn't want to wear it with my regular black skinnies, so I actually found these great legging style pants at H&M.  They are so comfortable and fit like a glove.  They also have 2 zippers in the front pockets.  I wasn't planning on going with a zipper theme outfit, but it worked! It added some edge.

I have on my black heels from Mandee.  I love the style of this shoe because it's not a regular pump.  My accessories are these silver chandelier earrings, MK watch & leather wrap around, silver finger ring from Forever & Juicy Couture cocktail ring.  Then I used my envelope clutch bag from H&M. I didn't do a necklace because the front zipper was enough.

The finishing touch was a red lip, MAC Russian Red.  I haven't gone out in all black in awhile so it was time to do it again.  I want to share these photos from yesterday :)

During the day I went to AC wearing my dark skinnies, over the knee boots, creme sweater & H&M printed scarf. You see my Suite201 bracelet? :)

My beautiful mother!  This was in the afternoon at long bar :)

My dinner at Izakaya.  The dragon roll & salmon avocado roll.  If you ever go there, you must try!

My sister friend.  Sisters by blood.  Friends by choice <3

I hope that you all had a great weekend too!  I keep forgetting that it's Monday already.  It really feels like Sunday still.  I'm looking forward to this new week :)

Denim & Khaki

Happy Sunday!  I'm heading to AC in a few hours and I'm so excited for an overnight getaway! It's definitely needed.  I hope that you all had a great weekend so far.  Last night I went to this spot called Boom Burger to celebrate a friend's birthday. I wanted to go for something casual but a little dressed up.  I bought my first items from Suite201 on Friday and I love them.  I got this really cute denim button down crop top by a brand named Ellison.  It fits great and I'm so happy I got it.

I stopped by H&M and found these great khaki colored skinnies for only $12.95! They have them in black also.  I don't have any pants this color and I've actually been looking for something like this for awhile so it was a must! They're kind of long on me since I'm short so I just had to fold them under.  I'm wearing my Jeffrey Campbell Litas and they went perfect.

I also got this leather studded bracelet from Suite201 that I'm obsessed with. It basically goes with  anything so I wore it with my outfit last night.

Then I put on these earrings that I got a few months ago from Forever21.  They're one of my favorite pairs but I don't get to wear them that often.

I also wore my double finger cross ring & gold finger ring and used my H&M shoulder bag. Then I put on Sophisto again :)

I'll be in all black tonight!  Zippers are involved too haha.  I'll post pics tomorrow when I get back. Enjoy this lovely day!

Brick Red & Black

I had no idea that it was going to be such a gloomy day!  But regardless today was good.  Before I forget let me just tell you guys that I am going to be running the blog for Suite201 and making posts 1-2 times a week, so make sure to follow that blog as well & check for updates! I posted today about the blue trend!  http://shopsuite201.blogspot.com/

I went to Forever21 this week and fell in love with this "shag" vest by Heritage 1981 and it was the last one there.  It's sort of like a faux fur vest but the material is different. I tried it on but for some reason I debated on getting it so I didn't.  I don't know if anyone else is like this, but if there's something I like and for some reason I don't get it, I just can't stop thinking about it.  Then I feel like I have to get it.  Is that even normal? I don't know.  So literally all day yesterday I felt like I needed to go back to see if it was there.  So of course I did and luckily it was there waiting for me!  :)  It's a brick red color which I love because I don't have many red pieces and this adds a nice pop of color to any outfit.

I decided to go with all black.  So I have on my H&M skinnies and this no name v-neck long sleeve tee. The vest on top of it really brought it all together.  I'm wearing my Bakers wedges.  I hadn't worn these in awhile.  I forgot how comfy they are!  Then I accessorized with my long feather necklace, 2 rings, MK watch & wrap around bracelet that I made the other day.  I also wore my Sophisto lipstick from MAC.  I actually realized today that I don't need to wear a liner with this color.  It goes on just like lipgloss.  I love it.

My only complaint about this outfit was the lint and the shedding.  These pants are great but they pick up lint like it's their job.  And this vest is so warm & cozy but I was getting little red fuzzies all over myself.  Thankfully though I carry around a mini lint roller in my purse.  I do.  It's true! lol It's only $1 at target :)

The last thing I wanted to share with you all are these really cute headbands from Suite201!  These are so trendy right now and I honestly haven't seen these styles anywhere else.  Check them out :)

Tomorrow is already Friday and I have such an exciting weekend ahead.  Another Birthday celebration and then a trip to AC! :)

Ripped Jeans & Button Down Obsession

Today was so beautiful and I tried to stay out as much as possible.  The slightest bit of warmer weather gets me excited and instantly puts me in a great mood.  I did a little bit of shopping too so I stopped by Bloomingdales & Forever21 :) So today I decided that I wanted to wear my Jeffrey Campbells again and I put together a simple look around them.

Have I mentioned how obsessed I am with ripped jeans & button downs?  HaHa.  I swear I have so much more in my closet but lately I have just been gravitating towards them.  I actually got another new button down the other day in periwinkle and I've been searching for another perfect pair of ripped jeans.  I feel like I am throwing them in the wash ALL the time.

So I put on one of my white shirts from H&M, rolled up the sleeves and tucked it in slightly like I always do.  It's kind of my signature way to wear button downs.  I used my oversized envelope clutch and then accessorized with gold & rustic brown.  I wore the leather wrap bracelet that I made yesterday with my belt wrap around bracelet. I put on my white & gold Aldo earrings and 2 H&M rings.  And then of course, my JC Litas. It was really sunny out so I also put on my Ray-Bans of course!  I just love simple outfits like this.  They're trendy with a little edge and just really comfortable to wear.

Ever since I learned how to give myself a good manicure, I have been getting different nail polishes left & right.  I have commitment issues when it comes to sticking to one color for longer than a few days.  When I was at Forever, I saw this multi sparkle polish from Love & Beauty for only $2.80 so of course I had to get it and try it right away!  I recently got Essie's Bobbing For Baubles so I put that on and then did an accent nail on each hand with the sparkle.  Love it!

On another note, I got the job that I interviewed for the other day and I actually start tomorrow!  It's fashion related and I'm really excited about it. I will post details too :) Have a great night!

A Little DIY.

I seriously have creative ADD.  I need to be creating something all of the time or I get anxious.  But the problem is there is so much that I'm interested in and sometimes I overwhelm myself.  Lately my obsession has been looking for different DIY (do it yourself) projects.  I've been doing a lot of searching online for ones that are in some way related to fashion.  There's two that I just did and I wanted to share them with you all.  It might be something of interest to you & maybe you can try them out too!

The first one is DIY SHELVES.  It's so simple and literally takes 5 minutes.  All you need is a basket that you can find at Michaels, AC Moore or any other craft store. The size will depend on how much you want to put inside. Find a spot on your wall, hammer in a nail, and then place the basket on the nail so it hangs.  It's that simple.

This was perfect for me because I have been running out of room for some of my scarves, hats & headbands.  And the basket actually looks really cute hanging up on my bedroom wall :) But you can put so many different things in here like lotions & small perfume bottles, hair products, nail polishes, tank tops, anything!

The second one is DIY leather wrap bracelets.  I've posted before about arm candy and how stacking different bracelets on your wrist is on trend and very popular.  I've seen so many cute bracelets that I want but they're either too expensive or I can never find them in the stores.  So why not make them?  Originally I wanted to make these a little bit different but I didn't find all of the supplies I wanted at Michaels, so I just worked with what I could find.

All you need is leather cord, waxed linen cord, crystal chain or brass ball chain and a hex nut.  The colors will depend on your preference and the sizes will vary according to your wrist.  For step by step instructions you can check them out here http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-wrap-bracelet/

Then I also made a braided leather bracelet and added a few charms to try something different.  I used to make charm bracelets awhile back and I actually had a few left over.  Here's the finished result!

I really wanted to do the brass ball chain but they didn't have it.  And I wasn't really into the colors there either, so I did these and kept it neutral.  Not bad for my first try!

So what do you think?  Will you be trying either of these?

STREET STYLE

Fashion inspiration is everywhere.  I get it from fashion magazines, celebrities, tv shows, and even on the streets.  Places like New York City and LA are filled with so much versatility when it comes to style.  It's great to see an outfit that inspires you & then recreate it to fit YOU.  I always get excited when I see something different.  I literally want to go out & find similar pieces and then put my own look together.  I decided to create some sets that focus on street style.  These are photos that inspired me, so I created matching looks. :)

Casual Nights

Happy Sunday loves!  I hope that you all had a great weekend.  My plans switched up a little bit & I wasn't able to do everything that I was hoping to.  I did get to celebrate my friend's birthday last night though which was fun but I didn't get a pic of my outfit :(

Friday night I went out to eat & it was really casual.  I wore my dark H&M skinnies with this long sleeve olive shirt that I tucked in slightly.  I wore my printed H&M scarf like a snood again.  I think I am going to wear it this way from now on.  I just like the effect that it gives my outfits.  I put on this thin leather belt from Urban Outfitters. I haven't worn a belt with jeans in awhile so I wanted to switch it up a little bit.

I put on my over the knee boots from Mandee. I love them. Every one has been asking me where I got these & how much they cost.  They were $50 and I bought them a couple of months ago so I don't think they're still in the store, but you never know.  I definitely suggest getting a pair if you find them though.  One of the best purchases I ever made.

I used a clutch that I got awhile back from Charlotte Russe.  I forget I have this sometimes but it's really cute.  My accessories were just this wrap around belt bracelet & rustic stone ring.

I just really want to thank all of you again for checking out my blog posts on a daily basis.  I know there's other fashion blogs with professional photos.  I am hoping to have better quality pics of my outfits, but for now I'm doing the best with what I have.  I appreciate everyone that takes the time to click on my links!

Another thing that I am thinking of doing is adding a store on here with a few items that I will be selling. I am in the process of trying to figure out how to get this done so I will keep you updated!! xo

Business Chic

Happy Friday!!

Dressing the part is always important, especially when going on an interview.  The first thing they see is what you have on.  You want to make a statement without trying too hard or over doing it.  I had an interview today & I don't want to get into any detail, but if all works out I will definitely share the news with you all :)  But I WILL share with you my outfit of course!

Remember those pink trousers I wore not too long ago?  Well I went back to get them in black and they were discounted even more.  Originally they were $35 and I got them for only $7!! They're from H&M's Conscious Collection.  That makes me like these even more.  I can't say enough how amazing they fit.  I bought these a few days before my interview was scheduled and it worked out perfect.

At first I was looking for a blouse, but then I saw this blazer style jacket and I fell in love.  I don't have any blazers this style and it worked really well with my outfit.  I love the colors.  It's a very stylish piece.  This picture doesn't do it justice.

Underneath I'm just wearing a plain black shirt that I tucked in.  I've got on black heels that I got awhile ago from Mandee.  My accessories are small black rose studs, necklace that was a gift, MK watch & flower ring.  I didn't want to overdo it.  I also used my lovely new envelope clutch/shoulder bag.

So there you have it!  My "business chic" ensemble.  :)
Also, just let me add that your outfit will change according to the type of interview that you have.  Whether it's the typical business suit or something that stands out a little more, always wear something comfortable that you know you will be confident in.  Confidence is key!

I just heard that it's supposed to start snowing tonight and into tomorrow.  I'm hoping this doesn't happen because I have a fashion show & a birthday party to attend tomorrow night! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Reunion With Jeffrey

One of my favorite things about putting outfits together each day is pulling things from my closet that I haven't worn in awhile.  I always say "I forgot I had this!"  You know what I'm talking about! I try to stick to my rule of getting rid of things that I haven't worn in over a year, but there's always a few items I keep just in case.  It's fun to recreate looks and wear older pieces in new ways. So that is what I did today.  I think I've had this shirt for almost 2 years and I can't even remember the last time I wore it or what I wore it with.  It's a denim button down. I'm basically wearing the same colors as yesterday but reversed.  I ALWAYS do this subconsciously! Haha.  Do any of you do this too?

I'm wearing my black skinny pants and I tucked the shirt in loosely.  Instead of putting on a necklace I decided to wear one of my favorite scarves.  This time I tied the ends and wrapped it around my head twice to give it the same effect as a snood.  If you aren't familiar with a snood it's "a tubular neck scarf." I love this scarf because of the color scheme.  It goes with almost anything and it was a really nice touch with this outfit.

I finally wore my Jeffrey Campbell LITAS!  I haven't worn them in awhile and it felt good to put them back on.  I missed them.  My accessories are this wrap around belt style bracelet, double finger cross ring & a brown rustic stone ring.  I also used my tan shoulder bag.  Literally everything I have on is from H&M except for my shoes, earrings & cross ring which are from Forever21.  I seriously feel like an H&M spokesperson.

I really like the mix of colors with this outfit.  I think blue & tan shades look good together.  For an extra added touch I put on "Sophisto" lipstick from MAC.  A really great color.  My hair is also huge today!  I did the heatless curls again last night and I had a little fro this morning.  I love it though :) Tomorrow is already Friday and I have a big weekend ahead of me.  Many things to look forward to over the next few days.  Enjoy the rest of your night!!
XO.

Skinny Jeans, Button Down, & Heatless Curls

It's super windy today!  My power was out for a few hours & thankfully it just came back on :)
I got these new dark denim skinny jeans from H&M the other day and I really wanted to wear them today.  They fit amazing & they were only $20.  I've paid more for my jeans there so I was surprised that they were so cheap.  Deals like that I can not pass up.  I haven't worn my black button down in awhile so I decided to take it out of the closet too.  If you've been keeping up with my blog you know I love button downs almost as much as I love blazers.  Like I always say, my love for menswear inspired pieces runs deep.

I have on my suede pumps from Nine West.  I thought adding a little bit of tan to my outfit would be a nice touch.  I put on my Ray-Bans, MK watch, gold hoop earrings and 2 rings.  Since I love the envelope style clutch, I found this great one at H&M also.  It's smaller than my tan one, but this one also comes with a removable strap so I can use it as a shoulder bag which I love.

I tried this new thing with my hair.  It's called heatless curls and I found a tutorial on youtube about it.  I love big hair and now that I know this works, I will be doing it more often.  Basically you just blow dry your hair straight, then divide into 2 sections on bottom and 2 sections on top. And then you split each section, twist, and hold with a few bobby pins.  Then you sleep on it and when you take them out the next morning you will have waves and lots of body.  Thought I would share that tip with you!

I have to head into the city in a few hours for dance class.  I know it's going to be so much colder over there tonight and I am dreading it!  Don't forget to check out the mini editor at the bottom of my blog and create some outfits!  To start you guys off I already made 3 sets that you can see in the gallery tab.  Happy hump day lovies!! xx
