Celebration Of Love

Yesterday I went to the first of two weddings that I have this Fall.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Simple yet elegant.  I just wanted to share a few of the photos with you all!  I didn't get many shots in my dress alone, but you can still see what I wore.  I actually had a really difficult time finding a dress for some reason but it ended up all coming together as it always does.

Tonight I have an event that I am really excited about it and will be posting about it tomorrow.  I'll be bringing my mom's Nikon to take photos so hopefully I do a good job at capturing everything.
The next few days are hectic so I will try my best to get my regular outfit shots in, but not sure if I definitely can.  The beauty of this blog though is that I get share other things with you all too :)

I hope that you all had a great weekend so far!  Enjoy the rest of the day xo

Cleaning, Shopping & Styling

Before I started blogging, I actually helped girls clean out their closets.  Basically it's a great way to edit your wardrobe and see which pieces to keep and which ones to toss.  Sometimes you just need that extra push and someone to help put you in the right direction of reaching your style goals.  I love the feeling I get knowing that I have helped someone enhance their style.  I just started doing this again, and yesterday was my first client in awhile.  Here's some pics of what I did, and a brief shot of my outfit!

Boots: Target/Top & Jeans: Forever21/Vest: Old Navy/Belt: Charlotte Russe

I posted this on instagram before I left in the morning.  Tried something a little different but I really like how my outfit came out.  I turned my striped dress into a tunic.  Oh, and these boots were only $9 on clearance at Target!

And here's after a very long but productive day of cleaning, shopping and styling :)

My client Laura in the beginning..

Her closets..

I literally took out everything and helped her sort through each piece.  I gave my opinions on what I thought was good to keep and what to get rid of.. but in the end the final decision was hers.  Laura had a lot of the same pieces that she would wear in the same ways.  I helped give her ideas of different ways to style those pieces and ideas of new things to incorporate into her wardrobe.
This is what she got rid of and will be giving to charity.

Her closets now...

More room for new pieces!

After a long and fun day of shopping!

Laura's style goals were to step out her comfort zone a little bit but still stay true to herself.  She wanted something sophisticated but still fun and she wanted to start being able to think of different ways to wear her clothes.  We focused on adding some more staple pieces to her wardrobe that can be worn in different ways and we added some more color and prints.

Here's just 2 of the looks I styled for her.

She usually wears a lot of black but never thought of pairing it with a brighter or bolder color like red... these red jeans and peplum top are 2 of the new pieces that she bought.  I also gave her ideas on other ways to style the red pants.  This is a perfect example on how you can do something simple to switch up your look.

This is an outfit that I put together for her from pieces that she already had in her closet.  She had never worn the top because she didn't know how to wear it.  Her initial thought was to go with black bottoms.  I helped her see that she could easily style the top by bringing out the lighter color in the print.

Both of these looks are pretty simple, but definitely sophisticated and still fun and a huge change from her outfit choices before.   She ended the day with more confidence and it was great to see a huge smile on her face!

When I do this, I make sure that my clients feel comfortable and are happy with the results.  I will always listen to your style needs and goals and do what I can to help you achieve them and I will also try to help you think outside the box with your outfit choices.  Sometimes when we are so used to dressing a certain way, it's more difficult to come up with newer ideas on our own.  So that's where I come in.  If you are interested in these services, please email me aloveaffairwithfashion@gmail.com

October Chic

Happy Wednesday lovies!  The weather over here has been pretty crappy the past two days with on and off rain.  I wasn't going to post anything today because for the first time I had to use the self timer on my mom's Nikon and let's just say that it was a mission lol I didn't really know what I was doing so I had to run back and forth to the camera every 10 seconds.  This was the only good shot that I got!  So I decided last minute to post this up anyway :)

Sweater, Beanie & Tights: H&M/ Skirt: Charlotte Russe/ Bag: Forever21

I was going for a chic Fall look by pairing a sweater over a skirt with tights, booties and a beanie.  This is obviously not a full length shot, but I'm wearing the Steve Madden booties from my last post.  The color of my sweater, oxblood/burgundy, is actually a huge color trend this season.  I'm sure you have been starting to see it everywhere.  I got this beanie last year and I absolutely love it.  I think that they are a must have for the Fall because they look so cute!  You can dress them up or down.  The perfect way to wear skirts and dresses when the weather cools down is with a pair of tights! You can go with simple black ones like these, or try a pair with a design.
I went with simple gold accessories and I'm wearing my wishbone necklace courtesy of Happy Wrist!

Here you can have a better idea of the full look.

3 Ways To Style: A Chambray Top

Happy 1st of October! Can you even believe that this year is almost over?  I swear that the Fall time is the most hectic for me between birthdays and the holidays.  There's always something to do and there's always things that I need to spend money on.  I'm sure its like that for all of you too.  One of the best things to do is buy a staple piece that you can style in multiple ways to help you get through these busy days where your funds might be a little low and when you have less time to shop for yourself.

So that brings me to the point of today's post:
HOW TO STYLE A CHAMBRAY TOP IN 3 WAYS!

To make it even easier to recreate these looks for yourself, the majority of the pieces are from Forever21.

OUTFIT 1: DENIM & LEATHER
Top, Skirt, Necklace & Belt: Forever21
Booties: Steve Madden
Sunnies & Clutch: H&M
Bracelets: C/O TheWayWeAre

I am obsessed with this denim and leather combo!  To do this post, I styled these outfits and played dress up so I am actually super anxious to wear this outfit when I go out.  It's edgy but it still has a chic and feminine touch.  I paired it with this heart belt to bring the outfit together.  I also added this statement necklace to bring another dimension and dress it up a bit more.

I think that booties look the best with leather skirts so I went with these Steve Madden ones again.  The blue and black combo is actually going to be another big trend this Fall, so in this outfit you're getting a few trends in one.  I went with this simple black envelope clutch and continued to accessorize with black and gold jewelry.  This is my favorite right now!

OUTFIT 2: WITH PRINTED PANTS
Top & Jeans: Forever21
Shoes: Bamboo (Mandee)
Clutch: Asos
Sunnies: Target

Denim goes great with printed bottoms, especially florals and animal print.  It acts as a neutral so it doesn't take away from the print or add too much.  It does just enough if that makes.  I know that mixing different prints is another trend, but for me and my style, I prefer to use one printed item as the statement piece in my outfit.  I just don't like to have too much going on at once which is why a lot of my outfits are simple, but still make a statement.

Believe it or not, florals are still a big trend this season.  I really love these jeans because it's a mix of summer and Fall in one piece.  I just accessorized with gold and used this Asos clutch to bring out the white in the print.  I went with neutral tone shoes, my favorite Mary Jane platforms!  This is a really cute and casual outfit with a girly touch :)

OUTFIT 3: OVER A DRESS
Top, Dress & Belt: Forever21
Boots: ShoeDazzle
Bag: H&M

I know I already showed you this outfit in my last post Heart Of Gold, but since it's the first way I styled this top, I had to include some of the photos in this post too.  This outfit is actually what gave me the idea to show different ways to style this top since I mentioned how versatile it is! I love using this top as a jacket and pairing it over a dress with a thin belt.  You can even do this with a skirt or a pair of pants.

I wanted to do one or two more outfits with this top, but I just didn't have enough time and I really wanted to get this post up today.  You can also pair this with colored denim and khaki.  You can tie it at the waist or wear it over a tank or tee.  The possibilities really seem to be endless and I hope that this post, as long as it turned out to be, has given you some inspiration and new ideas!

XOXO
