The Golden Globes: Best & Worst Dressed

I watched the Golden Globes last night mainly for one reason only, the fashion!  That's usually the only reason I watch award shows.  I love that E always does the red carpet because that's when you really get to see what each celebrity is wearing.  Some of the red carpet trends this year were fishtails, nude shades, and two toned dresses. Obviously everyone has different opinions, so some of you might disagree on my choices.  But as far as the worst dressed goes, I really wish that some of these celebs would either get better stylists or make better decisions with what they put on.  You have to know your body type and the things that are and are not flattering.

So here are MY top 5 picks for the best & worst dressed this year at the Golden Globes! It was hard for me to narrow it down but I'm happy with my choices. I'm curious to know who your picks were so leave comments and let me know!

BEST DRESSED

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang

I loveher. She looks amazing! I think that she really worked this dress and it shows off her curves in a very classy way.  I'm loving this shade of blue because it's not a color that is often worn.  She definitely turned heads last night. So elegant!

Charlize Theron in Dior

Absolutely stunning.  Charlize is gorgeous. I know there's a lot going on with this dress between the neckline, slit, bow and train, but she pulled this off in an effortless way. Not everyone could wear a dress like this.  I even like the extra added touch with the headband.  This worked to her advantage.

Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli

Very chic! In my opinion, she is one of the most beautiful women in the world and I feel that she is one of the few that would literally look good in anything. She didn't take big risks with this dress, but even in it's simplicity, there is a delicate elegance that I love.  I like the touch of sequin embellishments and I'm loving her bling.  She looks flawless.

Jessica Alba in Gucci

I almost overlooked this one at first.  I have to admit that it wasn't one of the dresses that stayed in my memory over night, but after looking through the pictures again this morning I knew I had to add her to my list.  I think this shade worked great with her skin tone.  The dress really shows off her figure and her up-do adds an instant elegance and sophistication.  I think she got it right with this one. Beautiful.

Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann

She stood out to me because her dress was so different from everyone else on the red carpet.  She's known for being original and staying true to her style. There's something very regal about her and I love it.  This shade works great for her and although I wish she added a little more color to her face, she still looks stunning.

Uggie from The Artist

LOL! I had to add him.  He's so cute with his bow tie.

I am not going to comment on my Worst Dressed pics because I don't want to be mean.  But I think after seeing these pictures, you will know why I picked them!

WORST DRESSED

Kelly Osborne

Piper Perabo

Amanda Peet

Madonna

Sarah Michelle Gellar

HOTTEST RED CARPET COUPLE

Channing & Jenna

They're both gorgeous.  I can't wait to see what their kids will look like.  They're so hot together it's not even right. LOVE!

Red Skirt x Puffy Sleeves

Happy Sunday loves! I just got home from the city and it's FREEZING outside today!  Make sure you bundle up.  Last night I went out with my girls for wine & tapas at this amazing little spot on the upper west side called Buceo 95.  If you're ever in that area you should definitely check it out.  They have great food.  After that we went downtown for my friend's birthday party at Crimson.
As always I wanted to shop for something new to wear but I was having a hard time finding something yesterday.  So I went digging in my closet and found this red puffy skirt that I literally bought 2 years ago from Forever21 and never wore.  The tags were still on.  I purchased it for a holiday party and I never got to go because we had a huge snow storm that night.  I'm so happy that I FINALLY put it to good use.

I'm wearing it with my puffy sleeve Zara top.  It has a Lady Gaga vibe and I love it.  This time I threw my hair up in a bun so that I could show off the sleeves.  My hair has been growing so fast and now I can do so much more with it.  So I am definitely taking advantage!

To bring it together, I put on my black and gold H&M belt.

I've got on H&M black stockings [sidenote: the best stockings I've ever bought] and my Shoedazzle pumps.  I used my shoulder bag from Forever21.  I've been using it a lot more lately than I used to.  Sometimes I prefer shoulder bags when going out so that I don't have to hold my clutch all night.  My accessories are hanging gold earrings & 2 gold finger rings.  I'm also wearing MAC Russian Red lipstick that once again did not smear or fade!

I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend!  I'm looking forward to a new week.

Neutrals & Faux Fur

Hey Fashionistas!! Yesterday was a great day to take my faux fur vest out of the closet and that's exactly what I did.  The last time I wore this I posted about it in "Wooden Heels & Scarf Versatility" but I didn't get pictures of the full outfit, so I wanted to make sure I got them this time.  If you don't have one of these, I suggest getting one before winter is over.  They're extremely cozy and a great added accessory to any outfit this season.  They come in different lengths and colors too.  This one is from H&M and I got it a few months ago.

I have on my creme sweater from H&M that matches the vest exactly.  I decided this time that I wanted it to blend in and not stand out as much.  I'm wearing slightly ripped jeans from Forever21 and my Steve Madden booties.  I hadn't worn these shoes lately either so it felt nice to put these lovelies back on.   I'm obsessed with the wooden heels and they are surprisingly comfortable.

I put on my treble clef necklace again that I absolutely love, big white oval ring from Aldo, and these hanging earrings that were a gift.  My shoulder bag is from H&M.  To complete the look I pulled my hair back again.  I feel that it gives it a sleeker/more chic look.  And the finishing touch was my Ray-Bans.  I have to say that every single time I wear these, someone compliments them.  This was probably one of the best purchases I ever made.  They're the best shades.

This was a really fun and trendy look to wear.  I was out & about all day yesterday and I kept bumping into people that I hadn't seen in awhile.  Later in the day I went to the studio to finish up a new record and I have to say, Friday the 13th was good to me!

It's already mid January and before we know it the weather will be warm again.  I've been seeing a lot of trends already for this spring and I will be posting about them next week.  I think you guys will like them! :)

LOOKS FOR LESS

I was able to create a few outfits that are either less than $100 or less than $50.  These are some great ideas if you are on a really tight budget.  Not all of these include shoes & accessories, but I was able to make some that have both.  Again, this is just to give you a little inspiration and to see that you can most certaintly put great looks together for less.  I tried to switch up these outfits since everyone's style is different.  Hope that you like!

Navy Blue & Stripes For Girls Night

I went looking for a navy blue blazer & I found one at H&M of course!  The majority of my blazers are from there because they fit me perfectly, they're affordable & they're good quality.  I know I'm a little blazer obsessed but I just can't help it.  They're amazing!  There's a few different ways that I thought of wearing this.  I wanted to do another v-neck tee, but since I already did that this week I decided to switch it up a little.  I was also looking for a graphic tee so I could recreate the fashion set I posted a few days ago, but I didn't see any that I liked.  So, I found this navy blue & grey striped tank at H&M for only $5.95.  You really can't beat that. It went perfectly so I had to get it!

I have on my ripped jeans again.  I think the rips get bigger everytime I wear them but I don't care because I love them! lol I paired this with my light grey pumps from Mandee & bag from Metro Park.  I'm wearing a small angel wing necklace, silver bracelet and 2 rings from Forever21 and H&M.

Last night I went out to dinner with 4 of my friends so this was a great outfit to wear since it's not too dressed up.  We went to this place called Zinburger that serves burgers and wine.  They have GREAAAT burgers! I definitely enjoyed my cheat day! :) Check it out.

Here's a pic of me with my friend Elissa.  We both wore something simlar: ripped jeans & blazers, so I wanted to share.  I wish we had a better pic though!

It's finally Friday!! Enjoy your weekend loves and I'll be sure to get in another post before Sunday :)

LOOKS ON A BUDGET

We all have different financial situations.  Some of us are able to go out & buy high end fashion items all of the time, some of the time, or never.  It's true that there are those who are very into labels.  I've said before that although I do love designer brands, I am also fine with spending much less on an item that I love regardless of the store I find it at.  To me, it's not so much "WHO" you're wearing but "HOW" you're wearing it.

I decided to start a new feature on here with different sets for those that shop on a budget.  I'll try to switch up the prices each time since everyone's budget varies. So some outfits will still be a little pricey for some, while others can afford it. The next time I am going to make sets that total less than $100, but this week I focused on creating looks where each individual piece is either less than $50 or less than $75.  This is just to show you that you can most certaintly put together some GREAT outfits without having to dig into your wallet too much. It's fun to mix & match too, so as always, I am listing where each item is from & it's price.

WHO WHAT WEAR- Part 2

This week is almost over so I decided that it was time for round 2 of WHO WHAT WEAR!  I got some great feedback the last time I did this post.  I still can't believe that I have so many blog views and only 23 actual followers. I get tons of feedback on facebook or through personal messages, but I don't get many comments on here. Help me spread the word! I am trying to get as many followers on here as possible.  :)

This week's WHO WHAT WEAR features more of my style icons.  I picked outfits that inspired me in different ways and I hope they inspire you too.  Again, I tried to recreate these with cheaper pieces, however some are still real pricey.  But this is just to give you an idea.  I think that soon I will start creating looks on a budget, and make different sets that are all under $100.  Anyway, hope you like these!

AnnaLynne Mccord

[AnnaLynne McCord]
Shirt: Jade24/ Jeans: My-Wardrobe.com/ Boots: Prada/ Coat: Burberry Brit/ Bag: Michael Kors/ Necklace: SimplySoles.com/ Sunglasses: Gucci

AnnaLynne's character on 90210, Naomi Clark, gives me fashion inspiration every time I watch the show.  I love the different outfits that she wears.  This outfit though is not from the show. The mix of colors is really what drew me to this.  I like the combo of pale pink & brown and this necklace adds another dimension.  It's a really cute, casual, and trendy look.

Street Style: Kourtney Kardashian

[Kourtney Kardashian]
Blouse: H&M/ Jeans: Marc Jacobs/ Coat: BrownsFashion.com/ Riding Boots: TopShop/ Bag: MIU MIU/ Scarf: Faliero Sarti/ Sunglasses: Tom Ford

I mentioned last time that Kourtney is one of my top style icons right now.  I just love the versatility of what she wears and is able to pull off.  I definitely relate to her style.  I thought this was a great look for this season.  I think the olive colored scarf was a nice touch to this outfit and I actually like these riding boots.

Olsen Twins

[Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen]
On Ashley [left]: Button Down: Aritzia.com/ Jeans: Net-A-Porter.com/ Shoes: YSL/ Bag: Zappos.com/ Sunglasses: Tom Ford
On Mary Kate [right]: Shirt: Dorothy Perkins/ Leggings: Warehouse/ Shoes: Rupert Sanderson/ Scarf: Alexander McQueen/ Bag: Benedetta Bruzziche/ Hat: Rag & Bone

The twins!  I love their range when it comes to their fashion choices.  They were one of the first to rock the "oversized" fashion trend and their style has evolved over the past few years. These beauties have their own line called "THE ROW." I picked these two outfits because I thought that they were nice casual day time looks.  I'm loving Mary Kate's fedora.  I think it's time for me to get some new hats.

Leighton Meester

[Leighton Meester]
Shirt: Dolce & Gabbana/ Trousers: Twenty8Twelve/ Jacket: The Row/ Shoes: Dolce Vita Devon/ Bag: SaksFifthAve

I die for the fashion on Gossip Girl.  The things I would do if I had Blair or Serena's wardrobe, I swear! These's such a classic & sophisticated vibe to all of Leighton's outfits on the show.  I was so drawn to this look because of the color combo. She makes these wide leg trousers look fab!

Kendall Jenner

[Kendall Jenner]
Blouse: Wholesale-dress.net/ Skirt: Mulberry/ Blazer: H&M/ Shoes: Zappos.com/ Bag: Reed Krakoff/ Earrings: Jamie Wold/ Ring: H&M

Kendall Jenner may only be 16, but she's a little fashionista in the making.  She's already had a great start to her modeling career and I know this is just the beginning for her.  I loved this "girly" look.  It's sophisticated but still has a young feel to it.  The jacket really made this outfit.  The pop of yellow is exactly what it needed!

Tomorrow night I have a date with 4 of my loves!  I will be sure to post pics of my outfit :)  Enjoy the rest of your night xoxo
