A Little Bit Country- Birthday Tribute To My Dad

Today is my dad's birthday and this marks the 3rd one since he passed away.  It never gets easier and until you experience that type of loss, it is difficult to understand.  One of the many things that my father loved was country music.  I remember him making me listen to it with him every time we were in the car together.  His favorite song was Lucille by Kenny Rogers.  I made him sing it to me when he was in the hospital.  I will always remember that.
So today, on my angel's birthday, this outfit is inspired by his love for country music.  This is my take on it and I dedicate this post to him.

Shag Vest: Forever21
Tank: Target
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Fringe Booties: Gypsy Warrior
Bag: Forever21
Hat: Nasty Gal
Sunnies: Target

I thought that these fringe booties and hat would make a nice combo.  To me, it definitely says country and I love that.  As I always say in my posts, I do my best to switch up my looks so that I can show you different sides of me.  Today, my father has brought out a side of me that I didn't even know I had.

Necklace: Thrifted/ Rings: H&M & Etsy/ Arrow Bangle c/o Lovely Obsessions

I decided to wear this skater skirt with this tank tucked it to give the illusion that it's a dress.  Tomorrow marks the first day of fall, but today the weather is still fairly warm so I decided to take advantage.  For a little something extra I added on this shag vest that almost matches perfectly with the booties.  I know it's a little different, but I like the way it came out.

I learned so much from my dad and he continues to teach me even though he's gone.  He's my biggest inspiration and the reason why I never want to give up on my dreams.  He is also the reason why I want to inspire others.  He left behind an amazing legacy, and when I am no longer here, I want to be remembered for inspiring others too.  The biggest piece of advice that I can give is to always stay true to who you are and the rest will follow.

This whole blogging experience has made me realize that I have the ability to speak to so many people across the world and that's an incredible thing.  I am building up such an amazing following and I know my dad would be so proud. It sincerely touches my heart to know that I have so many supporters.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GUARDIAN ANGEL! I AM WHO I AM BECAUSE OF YOU. I LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH!

Layer Me UP

Happy Tuesday LOVElies.  I'm feeling a little under the weather (hence the lack of smiles) and I almost didn't do an outfit post today.  But I decided last minute that I wanted to put this together.  It's super windy outside and it was not very easy shooting pics.  I hope these do the outfit justice.

Safari Vest: Old Navy
Shirt: No name
Jeans: Forever21
Booties: Steve Madden
Bag: ShoeDazzle
Sunnies: Target

I've been on the hunt for the perfect camo jacket and so far I have had no luck.  During my search, I came across this Safari vest and I absolutely love it.  I had my eye on a similar one from Zara but I really didn't want to spend $80 on it.  So I scored this less expensive one for less than half the price.  This will be the first of many times that I wear it during the fall.  It's great for layering and I have a bunch of other ideas on how to wear it, I just need to get some of the pieces, like a thin belt to tie around the waist!

Since I'm not feeling 100% I wanted to make this a real casual look.  I'm wearing an older long sleeve shirt and I don't remember where it's from.  The color went perfect though since it's similar to the green in the camo jacket I want.  I am absolutely obsessed with these booties, especially because of the wooden heel.  I got these babies on sale last year at Nordstrom.

Bracelet: H&M/ Spike Neclace: Forever21/ Rings: H&M and Gypsy Warrior

They say animal print is the new neutral, so I went with this snakeskin hand bag that I got awhile back. I thought that it added another dimension to the outfit. Since I am wearing all neutral tones, the print breaks it up a bit.  I also added this spike necklace that I've only worn once before and these 2 rings that I haven't used much lately.  I still have ESSIE Size Matters on my nails, definitely time to switch it up!

I used random.org to pick the 2 winners of the Klassiq $50 gift card contest and they are.......
LESHA & JEN!
Congrats girls! We will be emailing you shortly and thanks so much to all who entered.  I will be announcing part 2 of my 200k view giveaway tomorrow!

Blogger Meet & Greet!

Hi my darling loves!  So sorry that I have been absent all weekend.  We finally had the blogger meet and greet and it was such a success!  I am SO happy that it all worked out and it was wonderful meeting all of the girls.  I really love them all!

Before I get into all the details, let me quickly go over what I wore.  I decided to do something a little different and went with a school girl look.   I wanted something that was stylish, chic, and somewhat simple.  I fell in love with this faux leather skirt and thought that it would look adorable paired with a top like this.  I love the tie by the neck.  To give it a little bit of edge, I went with booties and a red lip.

Top & Skirt: Forever21/ Booties: Steve Madden

To give you a break down of how the night went, it was held at the amazing 230 Fifth Rooftop in NYC.   It's such a beautiful location.  We all exchanged blogging stories and goals, networked, had some drinks & laughs, and raffled off some lovely giveaways courtesy of High Class RebelLovely Obsessions, and My Darling Ava. We also got to enjoy some yummy red velvet cake pops made by fellow food & fashion blogger PooLovesBoo.  Thank you so much to all of the shops who contributed something to this event!

This was the very first event that I hosted and I have to admit that I was a little nervous.  But I teamed up with one of my favorites, JohnnyBell, to do it and it turned out even better than we expected!

I love these ladies! It was so wonderful meeting them all and hearing their stories on how they started blogging.

Enjoying our cake pops.  Thanks Erica
