Find Your Light

This ended up being a last minute shoot and I scored with some amazing lighting!  We were walking down my hill looking for a good spot and my mom was like "DON'T MOVE!" After one snap we knew we found it :) One of the biggest challenges I face when taking photos for my blog is lighting and believe it or not it's a challenge that some people face in life.
When you find your light, hold on to it.

Top: C/O Choies/ Jeans, Bag, Sunnies: H&M/ Shoes: Forever21
 Bracelet: C/O YourJewelryCloset/ Midi Ring: C/O Lilxurious

I like pairing soft colors with something a little more bold and then accessorizing with gold accents.  When I first got this top I was thinking of a few different ways to style it and last minute decided I wanted to wear it with these jeans.  This color combo is perfect for Spring.  I am all about the details and believe that they can make a difference with your look.  I think it's about creating a balance between simple and bold pieces.  The cutouts on this top and the gold cap toe shoes make this outfit stand out.  Speaking of this top, I was recently introduced to Choies and they have some fab finds!

I've been trying to do different things with my hair lately so decided to put it into a low side ponytail. I am thinking of redoing my ombre.  I need a little bit of a change again, especially for summer!
On another note, I've been using a new skincare product from Aveeno and will be doing a review on my blog soon, so stay tuned!

Happy Weekend!

Simplicity For Spring

Today's post is a simple look meant for a casual day/night.  One of my favorite things to wear during the spring/summer months are jean shorts.  I am still searching for the perfect pair of ripped ones. I took advantage and shot these pics on one of the warmer days we had here in Jersey.  I am hoping for 80 degree weather again soon.  Oh, and a nice tan :)

Top: C/O Mandee/ Jean Shorts: H&M/ Shoes: Forever21/ Necklace: C/O Mandee/ Sunnies: N/A

I always try to make my outfits be relatable for all of my readers/followers.  I try my best to switch things up to show my versatility and also give tons of different ideas.  For today's post, I just really wanted to go with something simple and casual that still had a sweet and feminine touch.  When it comes to style, some people over think it and it makes it that much harder for them to put different pieces together.  You can always go with a simple look and make it stand out with your accessories, a pop of print or a bold color.

This is another top from the Mandee spring lookbook.  It's got a cute and relaxed vibe to it and I instantly thought of pairing it with jean shorts.  Instead of wearing flats, I went for heels of course. The pink on the floral print is light, so I wanted to make it stand out more by adding this chunky stone necklace. I would definitely wear this for a casual outing with friends this season.

* A special thanks to Ashley from Ashes Into Fashion for teaching me how to resize my pics.  I have been trying to figure this out for months and she was kind enough to walk me through it.  Yay!

The Girl In The White Suit

I wanted to create the illusion of a white "suit" because it's super chic and trendy for this season.  You probably saw lots of all white looks and suits walking down the runways during Fashion Week for spring. I wanted to put my own little twist on this trend and make it a little more wearable for the "every day girl."

Blazer: Forever21 (shop similar)/ Peplum Top: C/O Mandee/ Pants: Love Culture/ Shoes: Chinese Laundry C/O Bakers
Bag: Urban Expressions (shop here)/ Sunnies & Necklace: H&M

I'll never be the girl who can wear all white without spilling something on it, but that still doesn't stop me from wearing it!  I know you have to be a little daring to do it, but isn't that what fashion is all about anyway... taking risks?!  White on white is such a clean look (before the spilling occurs of course lol) But in all seriousness, I really love it.  I wanted to make this look fun for spring by adding in the pops of color and print.  This peplum top from Mandee  (another piece from the spring lookbook) was the perfect addition.  As you can see it has a whole different look without the blazer. I love it both ways, but of course the blazer puts the cherry on top.

I added this necklace and my mirrored sunnies to continue with the fun vibe I was going for.  I was hesitant about the bag at first because I didn't want to overdo it with the turquoise, but I actually like it.  I completely forgot I had this bag.  It's perfect for this season. These shoes are from last year, but I love the print and the way they added some dimension to this look.  The last step was my hair.  In all honesty I was having a really bad hair day, so I pinned it into a low side bun.  I had girls on instagram asking me to do a tutorial on it and I am not even sure how I did it!  But I will do my best to make a video and see how it comes out.

**I just want to end this post by saying that my heart go out to Boston.  If any of my readers are from Boston, I hope that you and your families are safe.  What happened yesterday was truly heartbreaking and my prayers are with you all.**

Prints Are All The Rage

Happy Monday! I had such a great weekend and hope that you all did too! I did a quick shoot in the park before heading into the city on Saturday for lunch at Isabella's with fellow fashion blogger, Daniela from NanysKlozet.  I am so happy that I finally got to meet her because she's super sweet and inspiring!  We had lunch and hung out in the city for a bit, such a great time!  This is what I wore :)

and here's me being silly lol

Jacket: C/O Furor Moda/ Shirt (similar), Jeans & Bag: H&M/ Shoes: Zara/ Sunnies: Target (also love)
Rings: Forever21 & Etsy

This is one of those outfits that came together quickly without me giving it much thought.  Each piece seemed to compliment each other in the right way.  I went to H&M to return a dress that I never wore and instantly fell in love with these printed jeans.  I'm all for prints, and they're all the rage right now.  Printed pieces are a great way to spice up your look.  When shopping for them, try different styles and see what works best for you.  I instantly knew that I wanted to bring out the coral color in the design and literally as I turned around there was a table with a bunch of different colored shirts including this one.  It was meant to be. This one was $5.95 and I love the fit.  I need to go back and get them in more colors.  Stocking up on solid tees is a good idea since you can get so much use out of them.

I know I just wore this white linen moto jacket 2 posts ago, but it was the perfect way to complete this look.  I will probably wear this a bunch more times this spring and summer.  I think it might have replaced my faux leather one for this season!  I highly suggest getting some type of moto style jacket as it's extremely versatile, perfect for layering, and a great way to add a bit of edge to any look.

Here's a pic with Dany!  It ended up being a printed pants & white jacket kind of day (unplanned) lol You're probably already following her amazing blog, but in case you aren't make sure to check it out!

I try and do 3-5 looks per week on my blog, but I'm thinking of adding a new addition to my weekly posts that is separate from my outfits. A few ideas that come to mind:  anything beauty related, a round up of my week in photos (not instagram pics), or any fashion related topics.  I'm open to suggestions so if there's anything in particular you would like to see on here let me know!

Office Style

I am so happy to announce that I am doing another collaboration with Mandee, this time for their Spring Lookbook!  Instead of doing one big post like I did for their Holiday Lookbook, I decided to do separate posts so it's easier to focus on each piece. Today, it's all about the tuxedo pants!

Tuxedo Pants: C/O Mandee ($24)/ Button Down, Blazer, Bag: H&M/ Shoes: JLO (gifted)
Glasses: GeekGoneChic (shop similar)/ Rings: Juicy Couture (gifted) & C/O Lixurious

I've actually been eyeing tuxedo style pants for awhile now, so I was really happy when I saw them in the Mandee Lookbook.  You've probably seen many different celebrities wearing them and they're definitely right on trend.  Since black and white is also big this season, I wanted to stick to that color combo and give this look a really classic and clean feel.
This is something that you could definitely wear to work or a meeting if you wanted to.  The cool thing about this look is that even though it's not a suit, it kind of looks like one. There's other ways to style these pants, but I had "office style" on my mind as I was putting the pieces together.  The truth is I have not worked in an office setting in awhile so I never really think about it when it comes to outfits for my blog.  But I know that many of my readers do work in offices so I hope that this gives you a little bit of inspiration.  I decided to complete this outfit with my signature bun and geek chic glasses.

How do you feel about tuxedo pants?  Are you loving them like I am?!
Have a fabulous day!
